Company Philosophy

From data to knowledge
Companies have invested to get data out of processes. New technologies have been developed to get real-time data out of the harshest places, like oil-well drill heads or the Great Barrier Riff. Data in itself means nothing without the context the data is collected in. Example: data from equipment under maintenance does not provide information to operations. Information - data which is valid and meaningful - can overwhelm any user without the proper knowledge to interpret this information. UReason technology enables easy application of such knowledge in a comprehensible – visual – representation and makes hypothetical reasoning with information possible providing meaningful advisories to subscribers when they need it or when it is required that they are made aware of a situation which requires their attention.

From knowledge to action
Organisations have invested in documenting core corporate knowledge in the form of best practices, operational procedures and quality guidelines. In many cases this is done on paper while UReason technology enables putting these practices, procedures and guidelines in a software environment which will proactively support operators, engineers and decision makers. At the same time the UReason application monitors the outcome of each action and registers improvement or worsening of situation. These observations can be applied to improve practices, procedures and guidelines.

Condensing information
Organisations are faced with an increasing number of computer screens which monitor processes, safety, logistics, performance, quality and what you all have in a modern control room. The old synoptic panels, piping and instrumentation diagrams or process flow diagrams have been copied one to one into computer screens. As these did not fit anymore on a limited number of monitors and/or there are just not enough people available to watch all these monitors and displays, this information has to be condensed and stacked. Ergonomic studies have demonstrated that this approach is too complex to respond to abnormal situations. UReason technology enables new ways to represent information (and knowledge) and provide the most efficient way to respond to upsets, incidents and emergencies.

UReason technology is embedded in third party solutions, such as PIMAQ from Siemens.
